These birds are all part of a series of birds I created using fabrics and textiles fused to stretched canvases and then hand-stitched on. Some are just painted on and stitched and some use both painted canvases and appliqued fabric birds.
This series was started in 2012 when I wanted to explore great works by great artists interpreted in fiber. Originally shown at Bozarts Gallery in Water Valley.

This wall hanging size quilt was made as part of a challenge issued by Cherrywood Fabrics in Minnesota in 2018 in honor of the musician Prince. We had to use their hand dyed fabrics to create a piece related to the musician and his music.
This series was created for a gallery in Palm Springs, CA.
