Date: Saturday, January 22nd
Time: 2-5 pm
Location: Powerhouse Classroom #1
Instructor Name: Andi Bedsworth
We will use hand dyed fabrics, trims and embroidery stitches to create a fabric landscape. Demos will include a showing of examples of landscapes done with various techniques, and we will concentrate on a simple composition featuring a tree or two (or three!) using fabric and french knots on top of a layered fabric base. I will also demonstrate how I make daffodils, grass and other flowers on my landscapes.
A brief explanation on dyeing fabrics and trims will be given and hand dyed fabric and trims will be given to students to use in their landscapes. Participants are free to bring special pieces of fabric or trim they want to include. I will provide fabrics and dyed trimmings. Students will need to bring their own fabric scissors, various embroidery needles, embroidery thread in blues, greens and some other colors for their landscape (I will also have a selection) and pins.
Project will not be finished in class but you will get a good start and directions on how to finish and ideas for display.
